MICROPHONE RANGE CHECK
Free online vocal range test
Find your lowest and highest steady singing notes with a free microphone vocal range test. Runs privately in your browser with no sign-up.
How to test your vocal range
- Warm up gently and use a quiet room.
- Start the microphone, then slide slowly down to a comfortable low note and hold it.
- Slide up to a comfortable high note without forcing; the tool keeps only steady notes.
Range is a boundary, not a voice-type diagnosis
A useful result is the range you can repeat with a clear, comfortable sound. Vocal fry, squeaks, and one-off extremes can make a raw range look wider without making songs easier.
Classical voice type also depends on tessitura, register transitions, timbre, and training. Use this measurement to choose practice notes and compare yourself over time, not as a final classification.
Vocal range test FAQ
Is the microphone audio uploaded?+
No. Pitch analysis happens in the browser and the audio is not sent to Vocal Lens.
Should I include falsetto?+
Measure modal or chest-dominant range first, then reset and measure an extended range including head voice or falsetto if that is useful to your practice.
How often should I retest?+
Once every few weeks under similar warm-up, room, and microphone conditions is more meaningful than testing every day.
