Voice analysis that does not replace your ears
Vocal Lens shows changes in pitch and resonance as you sing, helping you connect sound with physical sensation during practice.
Why we built it
Feedback such as “slightly sharp,” “more forward resonance,” or “irregular vibrato” matters, but it is hard to reproduce from memory alone. Vocal Lens is designed to compare your own repeated attempts under similar conditions, not to assign an absolute score to one sound.
What it measures
Pitch movement
Current note, cent error, pitch trace, center error, and drift over time.
Periodic modulation
Separates likely regular vibrato and reports rate, extent, and regularity.
Spectrum and resonance
Relative harmonic strength, spectrogram, LPC-based formant candidates, and estimation confidence.
What it does not measure
It does not judge an absolute ‘good voice’ score, vocal health, voice type, or the correct technique. Browser and microphone measurements depend on equipment and environment; formant and resonance values are not clinical results.
Where is audio processed?
Microphone analysis and recording playback happen in your browser. Vocal Lens currently does not upload raw microphone audio or recordings to its server. If advertising is enabled, ad providers may process separate visit and interaction data as described in the privacy policy.
Practice safely
Do not add throat tension or sing through pain to improve a number on screen. Stop and consult an appropriate medical or voice professional if hoarseness, pain, or voice loss persists.
